Digital Marketing Assistant
Description
This is a part-time, contract position (3 shifts equaling up to 15 hrs/week, some weekends may be required) from June to October, 2025.
About Kingston Destination Group:
Kingston Destination Group (KDG) is committed to hospitality excellence as the portal to inspired visitor experiences in the Kingston 1000 Islands destination. We operate six tourism brands in downtown Kingston, Ontario: Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises / Kingston Trolley Tours / K-Pass / The Helm / Kingston Walks / Waterfront Gifts & Apparel.
As the Digital Marketing Assistant you will contribute to the ongoing efforts of the Marketing team by aiding in promoting these visitor experiences. You will help implement paid ad campaigns (Google, Facebook), maintain company websites, implement, monitor and optimize SEO/SEM strategies, identify and implement re-marketing strategies, and develop our digital brand presence across various content platforms. This role requires strong technical skills, videography/editing skills is also an asset. You may also be required to participate in other office tasks as needed.

Season: The Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises & Trolley Tours operating season begins in April and ends in October.
Qualifications:
- Positive attitude and creative approach.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro).
- Experience in shooting, editing, exporting, and uploading digital photo and video content.
- Experience utilizing and optimizing scheduling tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Sender).
- Knowledge of WordPress or other website content management systems. (Basic understanding of HTML is an asset)
- Experience with Google Ads, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager.
- Knowledge of emerging tools, technologies and software for content development and analytics.
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Marketing Communications Manager with scheduling and optimizing of digital marketing activities.
- Collaborate with Marketing Team to develop, design and schedule creative content across multiple social media platforms and email lists. Use social scheduling/email marketing/listening tools.
- Collaborate with Marketing Team to schedule content for digital ads (Google, Facebook) and traditional advertising (TV, Billboards).
- Shoot, edit, export, and upload digital photo and video content, maintaining an organized media library.
- Use content management systems and integrated software/tools to update website content.
- Utilize digital platforms (e.g. CrowdRiff) to curate, manage, and publish visual content that enhances our digital presence.
- When necessary, assist with office operations.
